Can a workshop or studio be built as a home office?
Yes, and it is one of the most common outbuildings now — a detached, insulated, conditioned room with power and data, separate from the house. It is smaller and simpler than a garage, it usually needs a permit, and it is worth doing to the standard of the house so it holds its value.
